The SmartControl is found in the SmartLife app but will not pair

If you can see your SmartControl in the SmartLife app but can't connect it, it's usually because your mobile phone is connected to a 5GHz network and not a 2.4GHz network. Most smart products only work on 2.4GHz networks. Aside from some technical prerequisites, the main reason is that this network has a significantly longer range.

    Here are three different solutions:

    THE SIMPLE ONE
Check the Wi-Fi settings in your phone. If you can connect to a network named 2.4, choose this. Also, during the installation process, disconnect "automatic connection" to other networks to avoid that your phone automatically switches to another network.

    THE TECHNICAL ONE
Inside the tech parameters of your router (which sends out the Wi-Fi signal), you can create a setting for a 2.4GHz network. How to do this is in the user manual for your specific router. Unfortunately, this is not something we at LightsOn can solve for you.

    THE TRICK
Many routers automatically send out signals in both 2.4GHz and 5GHz. Since 5GHz, as mentioned, does not reach as far as 2.4GHz, you can try to connect your smart product as far away from the router as possible. Just before you are out of your Wi-Fi's range, you are guaranteed to be connected to the 2.4GHz network. Perform the connection of your smart product to the app at this location.
